Mug/pot prototypes

I made prototypes for the pot and mug combo by carving the shapes out of green foam, which is quite hard and great for sanding down. Then with Jake's help from my cross studio exchange group we vacuum formed the vessels out of plastic. It was really cool seeing this process and really fun to work with some physical materials.

It took a few attempts to get it right

I tried a couple of different shapes, the typical rounded cup form and a more square pot plant looking shape. I personally preferred the square one but got far more positive feedback on the round shapes, perhaps because they're familiar or feel more organic. After discussing with Jake about what the best materials might be to use we I decided I'd prefer to have them done in ceramic. I was unable to get a hold of the pottery turn table in time, otherwise I would've made these properly.
